❃Step inside: www.charlottescozycottage.com :: a b o u t :: Just for you is this exquisite chenille robe inspired by English rose gardens... A medley of English candlewick bedspreads sourced from the UK make for one luxurious robe reminiscent of old-fashioned storybook rose gardens - this robe is designed using a Laura Ashley pattern from the heyday of the prairie look, modified only slightly to create a past-meets-present silhouette. The main panels are cut from a pristine Everwear "tipping box" spread that looks like little boxes with rose blooms spilling out. We gifted my mom with one of these exact same spreads about a year ago, and it has remained on her bed throughout the seasons because not only is it *that* fabulous, but it is neither too heavy nor too light - it's just, well...perfect! When we were fortunate enough to find another, it was destined to become a robe because it's just the most wonderful fabric weight - not to mention divinely feminine. And the best part? No rose - and when I say no rose, I mean it - was discarded. I hand cut any of the remaining roses off the spread and appliqued throughout the robe - see if you can spot any. Rose motifs are also appliqued at sleeve wrists and I even added a tiny piece of Cabin Crafts pink pearl pops at each wrist for some shabby cottage sweetness. The rear panel is in a heavenly shade of minty green in an outstanding quality cotton groundcloth featuring a trellis-type pattern of pinky-coral rose blooms. Sleeves are slightly puffed, accent cotton eyelet lace is applied at the upper facings and sleeve wrists, and a quilted belt tie featuring a medley of beloved chenille patterns has been rose tinted and includes some gorgeous greens to remind you of a walk through a beautiful garden. English bedspreads are renowned for both their quality and very distinct texture and colorways - and the fabrics we selected for this special piece do not disappoint. All colors are soothing and gentle, designed to calm and bring an essence of quiet peace. Enjoy!
